BIG

Today is a BIG day for me. Today I am 30. This has been hard because I have never thought about being 30. It seems like such a BIG deal and yet no one has made it into a BIG deal. For most of the day I have felt sorry for myself because I will never be in my 20's again. As a matter of fact when I went to bed last night and I thought this is the last time I will do anything when I am in my 20's. Now you may think this is silly and I suppose it is but this is how I feel.

Now my intent was to write all the things I thought were BIG in my 20's instead I am going to make a list of things that will come in my 30's. Especially this year...
A look into the future instead of dwelling in the past.

1. Felicia will officially be potty trained sometime this year.
2. Brandon has one more year of preschool.
3. Chris and I celebrate our 9th anniversary.
4. Chris and I go on vacation to NYC!!! (by ourselves)
5.I am part of the steering team for MOPS
6. Growing new friendships and strengthening old ones
7. Growing in God
8. Celebrating Brandon's 5th Birthday and Felicia's 3rd and Chris's!
9. Becoming more organized. (we can hope!)
10.Creating wonderful family memories!
11. Teaching VBS and bringing more children to Christ.
12. Spending time with the ones I love!

I could go on and on but I will stop there because I feel better and I don't want to bore you too much!

Love to All!

Music

This morning while I was doing laundry I heard Brandon singing. I stoped to listen to the song and was surprised by his choice. We hadn't heard the song in a while and was amazed by how well he knew it. I asked him if he would call his grandma and sing it to her and he said "No, it will make her cry." Funny thing is he is probably right!
I want to video tape him singing it and when I do I will post it but until then I will just leave you with the link to the song he was singing.

I hope this song touches your heart as it has mine.

Our Day at the "Beach"

I am so thankful that the warm weather has arrived! We spent the day outdoors and loved every minute of it.

First we warmed up with a four wheeler ride.

I say warm up because I had to run to keep up with them and Brandon's driving about gave me a heart attack.

As you can see Felicia is just sitting back enjoying the ride.

Then we drove the wheeler to the sand beach. The kids loved it. And we had a hard time keeping Felicia out of the water.

This is a waterfall that the kids are playing in.Builing a dam

Look at the buds on my lilac bush!!!! Yea! I love spring!!!!

Happy 200th Birthday, Abe!

Saturday we celebrated Abe's 200th b-day at Family Fair. What a fabulous event! We had a great time! Brandon loved running around and making all the crafts at the different booths. Abe arrived before 11 and Brandon, Felicia and I greeted him as he walked into the courthouse. Wow! He looked just like President Lincoln! It was amazing. Here is our picture with Abe.

The kids were a little nervous so I got in the picture to!

Can you find Tara & Drew?

Felicia just posin!
Brandon creating Lincoln
The kids and Kathi, my sitter, learning how bricks are made.

I had to take lots of photos of the event. I am doing a presentation on Family Fair in Springfield at the Spring Conference in March. I am soo nervous. I really do not like to speak in front of lots of people. But it will be fine, my boss will be doing it with me and Melita will be a help as well.

I will let you know how it goes.

Difference

This may be more serious than what you expected on my blog but I have been thinking about this lately and want to express my thoughts. I have been seriously thinking how I can make a difference. I doubt I am the only one who has noticed that the country is heading the wrong direction and away from God. With all of the special interest groups who have agendas that is not in the countries best interest it is hard not to notice. Here are a few things that are bothering me. I have also listed websites so that if you are more interested in something you can click on the link and explore.

· Protecting Tradition Values
· The Hate Crime Bill http://www.traditionalvalues.org/pdf_files/S1105_HateCrimeReport2007July18075.php
· United Nations treaty –http://www.onenewsnow.com/Politics/Default.aspx?id=383378
· Pepsi’s agenda http://www.afa.net/boycottpepsico/pepsionemillion.htm
· The government restricting resale shops http://www.narts.org/SaveKidsResale.htm
· Teaching homosexuality in the schools

These are just a few things that concern me; so what can I do about it…. Well I spent one afternoon emailing my government officials on variety of concerns. I doubt they even read them! However, so many of these things are so off the wall that I can not believe that anyone in office has common sense. And guess what WE (the American People) voted them in.
So the next time we go and vote. Do some research on the person you are voting for. Are they truly doing what is best for this county or are they meeting the demands of a special interest group?

Did you hear that Pres. Bush released the Border Agents today? President Bush received close to half a million faxes, letters and phone calls on these men’s behalf. We can make a difference!

Tips for 2009!

I got this list as an email from my friend Gaby and thought I would blog it for all of you to read. Of course what fun would it be if I didn't add my own personal thoughts!
You will find my thoughts in color.

23 TIPS FOR A BETTER LIFE - 2009: And Beyond!!!

1. Take a 10-30 minute walk every day. And while you walk, smile. It is the ultimate anti-depressant.

2. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day. Buy a lock if you have to.

A time to pray and be in God's word :)

3. When you wake up in the morning complete the following statement,

'My purpose is to __________ today.'

4. Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is manufactured in plants.

5. Drink green tea and plenty of water . Eat blueberries, wild Alaskan salmon, broccoli, almonds & walnuts. Does this mean I have to give up my coffee?

6. Try to make at least three people smile each day.

Lord, let me never enter a life, except to build.

7. Don't waste you precious energy on gossip, energy vampires, issues of the past, negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment.

8. Eat breakfast like a king/queen, lunch like a prince/princess and dinner like a college kid with a maxed out charge card. Aww... so that's what I am doing wrong.

9. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.

10. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.!!!! I love all of you :)

11. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.

12. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree. Really????

13. Make peace with your past so it won't spoil the present. I am so thankful for God's grace and that He has forgiven me for all of my mistakes and loves me no matter what.

14. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.

15. No one is in charge of your happiness except you.

16. Frame every so-called disaster with these words: 'In five years, will this matter?'

17. Forgive everyone for everything, ALWAYS!!!!

18. What other people think of you is none of your business.

19. GOD heals everything. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. James 5:16

20. However good or bad a situation is, it will change and then change again!!!! "Praise God even when you don't understand what He is doing". Henry Jacobsen

21. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your family and friends will.
Stay in touch!!!!

22. Envy is a total waste of time. You already have all you need. In my case too much junk!

23. Each night before you go to bed, pray and complete the following statements:

I am thankful for __________. Today I accomplished _________.

GOD Bless YOU!!!!
